February 10, 2021: “How do we resolve racial tensions? Start with reclaiming Black family history” – Savannah Hopkinson, Opinion writer for Deseret News, interviewed Sharon for this article. This year’s theme for Black History Month is The Black Family: Representation, Identity and Diversity. The history of those families is in danger of being lost.

August 7, 2020: “Gather at the Table“ – Sharon and Tom are interviewed together in the third of three successive podcast with Bill Myers Inspires. Winner of the Phillis Wheatley Book Award for Nonfiction/Biography & Memoir, Gather at the Table authors Sharon Leslie Morgan and Thomas Norman DeWolf join Bill Myers to discuss their Healing Journey as a Daughter of Slavery and a Son of the Slave Trade.

July 31, 2020: “Black Ancestry” – Sharon is interviewed for the Bill Myers Inspires podcast. As people love learning about their family tree via websites such as Ancestry.com, black people in America face many hurdles in discovering their ancestry as they were relegated to a status of property rather than as a human being, poor record keeping and the systematic dismantling of the black family unit for generations through the sale of black people as valuable property which resulted from America’s institution of slavery. How then can black people search their ancestry? Sharon Leslie Morgan provides helpful information and guidance as to the challenges, and meaningful steps and paths forward for black people as they embark on the amazing journey of discovering their ancestry, who they are and where they come from.

How would you use that information to discuss slavery and racism? Why is it necessary to address slavery and racism for America to move forward?

May 11, 2019: “Her ancestors were slaves. His were slave traders. They took a road trip to ‘confront that history’,” Piya Chattopadhyay, host of “Out in the Open” on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation; Canada’s equivalent of NPR) interviewed Sharon Morgan and Tom DeWolf, “The unlikely pair drove 6,000 miles in 30 days by following a map based on family genealogy.”

March 29, 2018: “Connect with those we’ve been raised to think of as ‘the other’.” by Melissa Hale-Spencer, in The Altamont Enterprise Regional, about Sharon’s and Tom’s appearance at LibertyCon in Albany, NY.

March 9, 2018: “LibertyCon 2018.” Sharon and Tom presented the opening address for the Underground Railroad History Project’s LibertyCon 2018 in Albany, NY. They were interviewed, along with Mary Liz Stewart, Co-founder and Executive Director of URHP, by Joe Donahue on WAMC Northeast Public Radio.

February 6, 2018: “On the Issues: Mission Week.” Sharon and Tom presented the keynote address for Mission Week at Marquette University in Wisconsin. They were interviewed for this program by Mike Gousha.

January 22, 2017: “Carnegie medal finalists” by Tina Winstead for The Daily Star. Gather at the Table recommended by the American Library Association as a “read-alike” book for 2017 nominee The Firebrand and the First Lady, by Patricia Bell-Scott.

November 16, 2016: “Whitelash and Blacklash” by Sharon Morgan and Tom DeWolf. Blog post for Beacon Broadside (publisher of Gather at the Table). Our thoughts after the U.S. Presidential Election of 2016.

May 20, 2015: “His Ancestors Were Slave Traders and Hers Were Slaves. What They Learned About Healing from a Road Trip” is the lead article in the Summer Issue of Yes! Magazine; written by Tom DeWolf and Sharon Morgan. The article sets the context for the issue and its theme: Make It Right, focused on the possibilities for deep societal healing, reconciliation, and reparation.

February 27, 2015: “Gather at the Table Revisited” an engaging, hour-long Blog Talk Radio interview with Sharon and Tom, by Bernice Bennett on her popular program “Research at the National Archives and Beyond.” The last time we did this program more than 10,000 people listened in.

January 29, 2015: “Quickly planned DePauw Dialogue seen as a success, but ‘race heavy’” – story about the campus-wide day of conversation on diversity and inclusion, for which Sharon and Tom were two of the three featured speakers, by Leann Burke.

Fall 2014: “Healing History’s Wounds” – feature story in Harford Community College’s Owl Magazine by Laura Milcarzyk.

September 2014: “A Healing Journey” – Sharon and Tom were interviewed by Dan Holly for this feature in Diversity MBA Magazine in advance of their appearance at the Diversity MBA Annual Leadership Conference.

August 9, 2014: Macon to welcome community historian appeared in Mississippi’s The Dispatch in advance of Sharon’s visit with the Noxubee County Historical Society Tuesday on August 19, and her presentation at the Main Street Macon Welcome Center on August 20.

April 5, 2014: Tom was interviewed about his and Sharon’s Gather at the Table journey for C-Span’s “Cities Tour” focus on Bend, Oregon (Tom’s home town), which aired on Book TV.

February 6, 2014: In advance of a three-day residency at Jamestown Community College in New York, Sharon and Tom were interviewed by Dusten Rader of The Post-Journal for History & Healing: JCC To Host Residency On Slavery.
